TikTok Actionable Trend Enablement

Retail is not linear in the world of social media. It’s infinite and immersive. This infinite loop has a life of it’s own through the TikTok community’s willingness to buy something immediately after they discover it. According to the Study, TikTokers are 1.5x more likely to immediately go out and buy something they discovered on the platform compared to other platforms’ users.

CHALLENGE: Digital lint reducing and scattering find-ability.

TikTok had a unique challenge with it’s powerful algorithm that surfaces organic fashion trend data every minute of every day.

Imagine however the digital lint that can accumulate with thousands of manufacturers where product many product attributes can mean the same thing per brand, per product, and per trend.

I partnered with the director of product to refine his initial concept to surface core trends in the ML of Lily and make them actionable for Tiktok. I was in charge of R&D and visual design. Fast cues for active trend tags was a required. Because in this end this interaction needed to be smooth and accurate. Also, trend education as a feature of the interaction for decision support.
